Ogilvy Planning Fellowship in Advertising, Culture, Creativity, UK

Deadline: 14 March 2011
Open to: anyone interested who has right and to live and work in the UK
Fellowship: not specified

Interested in trends, culture and psychology? Got a creative and strategic mind? Ogilvy UK is launching its first ever Planning Fellowship – a two year scheme that will deliver training and hands on planning experience in Advertising, Direct Communications, Sales Activation and Design.

Ogilvy Group UK is a communications agency that does advertising, direct marketing, interactive marketing, PR, design and promotion. They’re the London outpost of Ogilvy’s extensive global network of over 400 offices worldwide.

Eligibility

Degree
The lack of a completed degree doesn’t matter. You just need to be able to start working from mid-November should you be selected onto the Fellowship scheme. They are more interested in your potential. So why not apply?

Age limit

There’s no age limit on applying to the Fellowship but it’s worth bearing in mind that the salary is set no matter how old or experienced you are.

Visa requirements
Unfortunately, due to recent visa allocation restrictions in the UK, Ogilvy can only consider applications from candidates who have the right to live and work in the UK.

The Ogilvy Planning Fellows Programme

The Ogilvy Planning Fellows programme spans 2 years and will give you some of the best planning training in the business. But what are you really getting yourself into?

A six-week induction
Once accepted you’ll take part in a 6-week induction where you’ll familiarize yourself with the agency, the people, and the rest of the fellows. Over the course of the six weeks, you’ll:

Receive invaluable hands-on training from members of the Planning department in areas such as:

* How an agency works
* Writing a creative brief
* Presentation Skills and Public Speaking
* How to conduct and interpret qualitative and quantitative research

Be paired with a:
* Senior mentor: A senior planner who you’ll meet with as needed throughout your 2 years in the programme to bounce ideas off, discuss career development and offer advice.
* Peer mentor: A junior planner who, like you will be a relative new comer to the industry and who you can meet with to chat about the business, your accounts, clients etc.

Get to work on small projects and presentations to get your creative energy flowing and to build rapport with the other Fellows.

The most breadth and depth you can possibly cram into 2 years of planning

You’ll be assigned to an account and start by working alongside a senior planner, attending client meetings, writing creative briefs, attending focus groups and conducting consumer targeting research. It’s a full immersion experience – the best way to accelerate your learning and development.

Then it’s on to four 6-month placements at:
* Ogilvy & Mather Advertising – Create TV, radio, print and some online advertising
* Ogilvy One – Specialise in one-to-one communications – direct marketing and digital stuff (Campaign’s Direct Agency of the Year 2010)
* Coley Porter Bell – Brand design consulting
* Ogilvy Action – International promotion and activation specialists

Ongoing learning and development
Throughout the placements you will receive ongoing training and have the chance to work with your core group of Fellows on various side projects within the agency, as well as attending industry events, external training courses and building a valuable network within the Ogilvy Group of companies that will be an invaluable asset as you move forward in your career.

  1. knowing html will help , but is not essential , there are so many soerfatws that allow you to do it visually, adobe has some, but they are kind of expensive. If you use ipage as host, they have weebly which is a drag and drop software which is really easy.
