Mladena and Dianko Sotirov LSE IDEAS Balkan Programme Visiting Fellowship

Open to: doctoral candidates and post-docs focusing on history and international affairs of Bulgaria and the Balkans on the 20th Century
Fellowship: £3000 for a two month stay in London during the summer 2011

Recipients of this Fellowship will be working within the LSE IDEAS Balkan International Affairs Program –which aims to promote the understanding of the region’s often troubled past and the challenges of today, in order to assist in defining the common vision of the future. This fellowship is offered annually.

Eligibility

Doctoral candidates and post-docs whose work and research focuses on the topics related to the history and international affairs of Bulgaria and the Balkans in the Twentieth Century and beyond.

Application

All applicants should submit:
* CV in English
* Cover letter
* Research proposal describing how the Fellowship will be used
*  Two letters of academic recommendation (one of which must be from the applicant’s thesis supervisor, if the applicant is a PhD student)

Fellowship

The grant amounts to £3000 for a two month stay in London during the summer 2011.
It will contribute towards accommodation and travel expenses.
The Fellowship will also provide shared office space at the LSE IDEAS center and access to the LSE Library.
