Open to: students aged 13 to 18 from around the world
Awards: 10 day trip to the Galapagos Island and a $50,000 scholarship
Google is looking for the brightest, best young scientists from around the world to submit interesting, creative projects that are relevant to the world today.
Projects can be submitted in any one of the following categories:
1. Computer Science & Math
2. Earth & Environmental Sciences
3. Behavioral & Social Sciences
4. Flora & Fauna
5. Energy & Space
6. Inventions & Innovation
7. Physics
8. Biology
9. Chemistry
10. Food Science
11. Electricity & Electronics
There are 3 categories of participation:
* 13-14 years
* 15-16 years
* 17-18 years
One of of the 3 finalist winners will be selected as the Grand Prize winner.
Time line
* early May 60 global semi finalists will be announced and their projects will be posted online and open to public voting for a “People’s Choice Award”.
* 15 global finalists who will be announced later in May
* 15 global finalists will be flown to Google HQ in California, USA for our celebratory Science Fair event and finalist judging round will take place on 11 July 2011
Eligibility
Students aged 13 to 18 from around the world working on their own or in a team of two or three.
Application
1. Create a Google Account
2. Complete the registration
3. Plan your science project, conduct your experiment, and write up your results
4. Complete the other sections of your Google project submission site
5. Create either a two-minute video or 20-slide presentation giving an overview of your project and embed it on the Summary page of your project submission
6. When your project site is done, make sure to submit it here
Please note that all entries and supporting documentation must be submitted in English.

Grand Prize
* the Grand Prize winner(s) plus one parent or guardian per winner will win an amazing 10 day trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions (Google will cover the cost of Economy Class flights to the Galapagos from the winner’s home).
* $50,000 scholarship, split equally between team members should a team win this prize
* personal LEGO color mosaic
