Mladiinfo is looking for one interested young person from Macedonia to spend one year living in ECO Village in Slovakia. The organization is providing you an alternative way of living with very small group of people. They already have EVS volunteers from other European countries.
Brdarka is small, relatively isolated village situated in the northern part of Rožòava district which is affected by high degree of unemployment. Geographical isolation causes long distances from industrial plants (working opportunities), on the other hand it provides healthy and clean natural environment. Brdarka is inhabited by Slovak and Romany communities (about 50 people, most of them unemployed). Approximately 15 people are involved in the activities of our organisation. The goal of volunteer activities is to propagate the ideas of sustainable lifestyle.
The social rules in community are not written and could be observed from daily life. The volunteer is expected to accept principles of solidarity, tolerance and respect for other members of the local community.
Main themes of the Activity are Environment, Nature protection, Permaculture and Sustainable rural development.
This Activity will enable volunteers to be actively involved in the projects and non-profit activities of Alter Nativa connected with the programme Centre of the Alternative Lifestyle.
The accommodation facility is situated directly in the village. Volunteers will be provided with the room of his/her own (or with one another volunteer in one room if agreed), shared bathroom and kitchen. There is one grocery store in the village, other services are available in Rožňava town (30 km) or village of Štítnik (15 km). Bus links to mentioned places are available four times a day, once a week we offer a journey by our van.
