The Norwegian Cooperation Programme

The Norwegian Cooperation Programme in Higher Education with Eurasia supports project cooperation between institutions in Norway and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Moldova, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

The programme is based on an agreement between the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation (SIU) and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the programme period runs from 2010 to July 1, 2015. The total budget frame is up to 20 million NOK per year.

The objectives of the Programme
* Increase relevance of higher education in the cooperating countries by joint development  of sustainable study programmes in fields of high priority at institutional and national level.
* Enhance quality of education.
* Contribute to increased internationalisation of higher education in the cooperating  countries and in Norway, and to share Norwegian experience from the Bologna reform process to institutions in the cooperating countries.
* Increase academic connections and cooperation between Norway and the cooperation countries.

The Norwegian Cooperation Programme in Higher Education with Eurasia primarily support projects and activities representing long-term institutional cooperation between one or more institutions in Norway and one or more institutions in the cooperating countries.

Eligibility
* Eligible participants in the programme are accredited higher education institutions in Norway and in the cooperating countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Moldova, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan);
* Eligible activities include:
* New long-term cooperation projects targeted at all levels of higher education.
* Continuation of on-going projects aimed at securing the sustainability of project results.
* Development of joint long-term project cooperation (seed money).
* Limited cooperative activities, such as seminars and short term visits of academic, administrative and/or technical staff.

Application procedure
Interested institutions should prepare and submit joint applications through SIUs online application database.
