The Masters in Public Health (MPH) is a full time one year programme. This MPH is designed to provide the knowledge, analytic and practical skills needed to fulfil a leadership role in public health whether in the NHS, the developing world or elsewhere.

The MRes Health Studies is a full time one year course designed to provide the intellectual and practical skills to undertake a substantial health related research project.  It consists of six taught modules and a research project.   These programmes are ideal preparation for students wishing to continue to PhD studies in the School of Health and Human Sciences, and those preparing for a career in Public Health or research around health and healthcare.

Students wishing to be considered for a Drake-Lewis scholarship in the School of Health and Human Sciences should complete:

  1. Thanks alot for the information, it's very interesting and really good.

    But my inquiries are:

    01. Can i get scholarship for MPH since i have got the experience of 03 years practicing community public health ( water and sanitation issues) among the rural Internal Displaced communities in Northern Uganda with ARC- international.

    thanks in advance.

  2. Good day to you, i just came across your public health masters program, my question is,is the invitation to study at your school open to foreign students, and i have a B'sc i Human Anatomy am i eligable to come study masters in public health?

  3. Good Day. I want to be clarified on the issue of TOEFL. I have noted that most universities demand that prospective students should undergo and have undergone this exam as a requirement for admission. Why should this be a requirement even to students whose undergraduate degrees were taught in English?

    1. Hmmm this is interesting topic for discussion and deserves more space than the comment box allows. Anyway, you are right, most of the Universities have this as one of the main criteria, to confirm your English proficiency by providing TOEFL or sometimes IELTS test. Even though not many of them note that students that finished their studies on English will be exempted from this rule, in many cases if you contact them directly, explaining your case could allow you to apply without TOEFL or any other English test. But, this depends from case to case. What you should do is to send letter to the respected university explaining your interest to get involve in the program and asking them if TOEFL/IELTS is a must for you.

    1. Dear Abubakar,

The Essex University is a British Campus and each program is studied on English. We could not possibly know if MPH is studied on English in Ukraine. You should search for universities in Ukraine and direct your questions to their institutions.
