Description

The Joint Doctoral Program in Arts and Archaeology (JDP by Universiteit Gent (Belgium) and Università di Verona (Italy) a new PhD scholarship is being granted to predoctoral researchers, aimed at obtaining a doctoral degree within 4 years. This grant is initially awarded for 2 years.

Ghent University is a top 100 university and one of the major universities in Belgium. Тhe 11 faculties offer a wide range of courses and conduct in-depth research in both exact and social sciences. Ghent University aims to encourage its students to adopt a critical approach within a creative, development-oriented educational and research environment.

Eligibility

  • Available for applicants of all nationalities;
  • Production of a Ph.D. dissertation of high academic quality under the supervision of a Ghent University promoter and a University of Verona co-promoter. The PhD student will reside in Ghent and will stay a minimum of six months at the University of Verona;
  • Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Scholarship

The amount of the scholarship is approximately EUR 2.065 per month, depending on the family status of the scholar. Based on the advice of the Research Council, a bench fee of EUR 7.440 (EUR 310/month) will be awarded to the promoter per term of 2 years.
