It is salutary to cndsioer how removed the new Blair/Brown UK is from showing such a video as ‘public information.’ How the values revered by the ‘state’ have changed. And yet, if ever something similar were screened, it would be used by some to infer that, since evil is not a concrete reality, the devil does not exist, either. We should remember the words of Paul VI in his General Audience of Nov 15, 1972, on ‘a dark, hostile agent, the Devil. Evil is not merely an absence of something but an active force, a living, spiritual being that is perverted and that perverts others. It is a terrible reality, mysterious and frightening.’
