Kiev University or officially the National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv was founded in 1834. Kyiv University is named after Taras Shevchenko, a major figure in Ukrainian arts. It is considered the most prestigious university in Ukraine. At present the student body of Kyiv University numbers about 20 000 students at 14 faculties (Faculties of Biology, Geography, Geology, Economics, History, Cybernetics, Mechanics and Mathematics, Radiophysics, Social Sciences, Physics, Philosophy, Chemistry, Law, and the Preparatory Faculty) and in 6 Institutes.

Admission

The Preparatory Faculty is a teaching and research institution which combines the preparation of both Ukrainian and foreign citizens for studies in all majors at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and for study at other educational institutions in Ukraine.

Preparation Department provides preliminary training for foreigners in both Ukrainian and Russian (at student’s option), who are planning to study at National Taras Shevchenko University or other higher educational institutions in any academic major.

Preparation Department’s curricula and syllabi are oriented towards the major subject of subsequent student’s study at a university, namely: engineering and natural sciences, medical-biological and agrarian, economics, and humanities (including music, figurative arts and choreography).

Preparation Department’s graduates receive Certificate which allows them to enroll to any higher educational institution in Ukraine without selection and admission exams just on the basis of interview and payment as per contract.

Preparation Department assists its graduates to get enrolled to any higher educational institution of Ukraine ( Russia ) in any major field.

National University of Kyiv

Preparation Department issues invitations to study, accepts applications, concludes contracts with legal and physical bodies and enrolls freshmen on the year-round basis.
In order to enable prospective students to enter Ukraine, Preparation Department issues them official invitation letters, by means of which they can qualify for entrance visas at Ukrainian embassies.

In order to receive official invitation letter to study at Preparation Department, an applicant should provide the following information: first name and surname, date of birth, passport number, address of residence, and place of submission of visa application (country and city with the General Consulate of Ukraine).
