Orange African Social Contests for Social Entrepreneurs

Prizes: first place EUR 25,000, second place EUR 15,000, third place EUR 10,000. To the winner it will be offered a patent registration in the country of the project deployment.

Orange is currently accepting applications for their 5th edition of the Orange African Social Venture Prize. This initiative aims to support local entrepreneurship and encourage innovative start up project which help to accelerate to development on the African continent. The Orange African Social Venture Prize showcase entrepreneur offering innovative products that meet the needs of African in fields such as health, agriculture, education, energy, industry or trade. The Grope also supports entrepreneur by offering a variety of support programmes, both to entrepreneur seeking to create their own and to mature start-up.

Eligibility

  • Entrepreneurs (aged 21 or over) or legal entity that has been in existence for less than three years may participate at no cost and with no restriction on nationality;
  • Submitted projects must be designed to be deployed in at least one of the 17 African countries in which Orange operates and must use information and communications technology in an innovative way to help improve the living conditions of the populations in these countries.

Prizes

  • First place EUR 25,000 and patent registration in the country of project’s deployment;
  • Second place EUR 15,000;
  • Third place EUR 10,000;
  • Six months support of Orange experts for all winners.

Internet users are also invited to vote online for their favorite project on Orange’s entertainment portal in Africa. The winner of the “Favorite Project” will have its project submitted directly to the jury along with the other project finalists.
