Deadline: 30 November 2014
Open to: master graduates in chemistry from UK and EU
Funding: UK £13,863
Description
University of Cardiff is seeking a highly motivated recent graduate to join Dr Rebecca Melen research group as she establishes a dynamic program of research in Main Group catalysis to investigate the use of main group p-block metals and non-metals as catalysts for a range of important catalytic processes and synthesis of novel compounds. Such main group catalysts offer potential to provide alternatives to conventional transition metal catalysts whilst sometimes also offering differing reactivity such as product selectivity. It is a new and emerging field and offers rich opportunities for strongly motivated graduate students.
The start date of the program is set to be January 2015. One position is available.
Eligibility
If you wish to join the research team you need to:
- Be UK or EU National;
- Have a good first degree (the equivalent of a 2.i or higher) and a Masters in Chemistry;
