The first Georgian university established in 1918 by Ivane Javakhishvili and a group of his followers is the symbol of civilization, democracy and identity of the Georgian state.

Today the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is one of the first scientific-research institutions of Georgia. It implements about 200 local and international scientific grant programs annually. The Tbilisi State University is one of the largest higher educational institutions by its scales. Today about 22 thousand students are undergoing studies at six faculties of TSU.

The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University has a variety of faculties among which you can choose from the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Law.

International Relations

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) is a member of several professional associations and networks, which allows the university to enhance its administrative policies and practices and to position itself as a strong player in the area of higher education internationally. These cooperative networks strengthen academic and cultural relations among member universities and facilitate the search for new partners. Membership to these networks and associations reinforces academic and cultural ties between universities. More importantly, such networks and associations serve as channels for communication to exchange research developments and to disseminate information about academic exchanges and conferences for university faculty.
