Description
The Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia and its youth organization, YATA Macedonia, are pleased to announce the project NATO PARTNERSHIP POLICY – ADDRESSING INSECURITY AND CREATING SECURITY. The project will take place in Berovo, Republic of Macedonia from 18 to 21 December 2013. This event is a multilayered project which will include broad spectrum of activities for the participants such as lectures, workshops, trilateral student simulation scenario and producing policy papers with recommendations.
The focus of this project is the future of the NATO Partnerships, with a special emphasis on operational commitments, milestone contributions and the political significance of NATO Partners in international relations.
Furthermore the project will:
- Examine the importance of the countries’ involvement in the NATO operations and missions and the benefits both parties receive from it.
- Examine how each Partnership has benefited different regions and how this has improved security cooperation between different countries.
- Challenge the participants, test their leadership skills and expose them to act in the moment by given scenario.
- Create networks of ATA, other NGO activists, students, young professional and experts from different countries worldwide dealing with the same issues.
The working language of the event will be English.
Eligibility
Target group of the project are international and Macedonian students and MA candidates with a good command of English language.
Costs
The costs for the Macedonian participants on this event are fully covered (local transport, accommodation and meals).
The accommodation and meals for the International participants on this event are also fully covered. Every international participant will receive up to 90 percent reimbursement for their travel costs (reviewed case by case). Local transportation will be organized by YATA Macedonia.
Application
Applicants should belong to one of the two target groups and provide the following information:
International participants (10 places for this group):
- A copy of a CV (no more than 2 pages);
- Written contribution (short essay in English) on the topic NATO PARTNERSHIP POLICY (500 – 800 words)
- Applicants should be part of YATA National Chapter
Macedonian participants (15 places for this group):
- A copy of a CV (no more than 2 pages);
- Written contribution (short essay in Macedonian or English) on the topic NATO PARTNERSHIP POLICY (500 – 800 words)
Deadline for submitting the applications for the International participants is 5 December 2013 and for the Macedonian participants is 10 December 2013. Applications sent later than this date will not be considered. Applications should be sent to info@atamacedonia.org.mk. Applicants will be notified three days after the deadline.
