Description
UNIQLO recently announced the launch of the UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) Grand Prix 2013 annual T-shirt design contest, in which participants around the world turn T-shirts into creative works of art.
Music is the theme of the UT Grand Prix 2013 T-shirt design contest, with six very popular artists set to participate. AC/DC, David Bowie, Madonna, KISS, the Sex Pistols and members of The Who will personally select the winning entries, with each artist responsible for choosing the six Artist’s Choice Award winners.
Eligibility
No restrictions. Open to everyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Submissions will be accepted from all countries.
Prize
A total of $30,000 cash prize will be available for the twelve winners. UNIQLO will select an additional twelve entries for the Runner’s Up category, and the company will produce UTs for all twenty-four designs and sell them at its stores throughout the world, as well as online, in Fall 2012.
Application
- All submissions, including illustrations and photographs, must be submitted on a flat surface — a sheet of paper, for example — because the winning designs will be used to create prints for T-shirts.
- Plagiarized submissions, designs that have been developed for other purposes or designs that have been used in the past by other organizations or companies will be not be accepted.
- All entries should include front and back T-shirt designs.
- Contest participants can choose from 1 of 10 different colors to be used for their T-shirt design. Please note that the color of the finished T-shirts may be slightly different from the templates that are shown online.
- Designs can only be submitted through the website. Designs sent by post, for example, will not be accepted.
- Contest participants must submit high-resolution versions of their entries so their designs can be turned into merchandise. The contest winners will be contacted before their winning designs are actually put on T-shirts.
- Contest participants must cover the cost of producing their designs on their own.
