Description

For the 6th time, Club Alpbach Belgrade, in cooperation with the University of Belgrade – Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, is organizing Alpbach Summer School on European Integration – Belgrade (ASSEI-B 12) – a comprehensive course on EU and EU integration processes.
The ASSEI-B project follows the model, program and the lecturers of the Alpbach Summer School on European Integration, designed and organized by the European Forum Alpbach and the Institute of International Public Law, European Law and International Relations – University of Innsbruck

What are the aims of ASSEI-B?

A progress in the EU integration process means a growing need for further education in this regard in SEE region. Also, there is a need for significant improvement of the cooperation between those countries. The project perceives regional cooperation and reconciliation as a precondition for EU integration. Recognizing this, ASSEI-B is built on two pillar-ideas:

  • to enhance the knowledge about history, law, socio-economic integration, policy areas and political systems of the European Union among students, graduates, postgraduates and young professionals coming from various fields such as law, economics, political sciences, technical sciences, linguistics etc.
  • to encourage and initiate cooperation between youth of those societies, many of which have a history of conflicts and wars. Variety of countries participants are coming from is an asset in this project. It will be used to initiate debates and discussions on topics such as post-conflict justice, prejudices and peace building. The project should develop a network of young, prosperous people, able to bring a European and regional perspectives to their environments.

Eligibility

Alpbach is looking for 25 candidates from all 10 countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Kosovo and Serbia.
Participation in Summer School is opened for students/postgraduates/young professionals under the age of 35 with no limits in regard to educational background, coming from above mentioned countries.

Venue

Alpbach Summer School on European Integration – Belgrade (ASSEI-B 12) will be organized in Serbia, Belgrade in cooperation with Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade.

Scholarships

Club Alpbach Belgrade with the support of GIZ-Serbia (German Interational Cooperation in Serbia), Network of European Foundations, Hypo Alpe Adria Bank Serbia and Raiffeisen, Atlas Foundation Bank Serbia, is covering costs of participation, reading materials, accommodation, meals and excursions for selected 25 participants. Visa and traveling expenses will not be reimbursed.

Please submit your CV and Application form (see the attached files) via email address assei_belgrade@beoalpbach.org. Application deadline is July 17, 2012.

Selected candidates will be informed by July 31 and asked to confirm their participation. Please note that cancelation later than August 20 is subjected to a processing fee of 50% of the total amount of the scholarship.

Dear Zarko, Mladiinfo just re-posted the information, we are not responsible for the organization of the event, but we checked the mail and we saw that is over quota meaning their mail box is full, that's why usually is not recommended to apply in last minute just because of this reasons, we recommend you to follow the original web page and see if they will announce some postponement of the deadline, if they consider that their mail have problems.
