2012 RNTC Fellowships Fund for Developing Countries, Netherlands

Description

In January 2012 RNTC launched the RNTC Fellowship Fund to support journalists, programme-makers, broadcast trainers and managers from around the world who are looking to develop their media skills, but do not have enough financial means to pay for the costs of the course of their choice.
The fellowships are available for the following courses:

  • Mastering Social Media
  • Multimedia Journalism and Water

Eligibility

RNTC’s Fellowships are available for professional journalists, programme-makers, broadcast trainers and managers coming from the developing countries (a combined NFP list and low-middle-income countries according to the World Bank criteria): Afghanistan, Guatemala ,Peru ,Albania Guinea-Bissau Philippines ,Angola, Guyana ,Rwanda ,Armenia ,Honduras ,Samoa ,Autonomous, Palestinian, Territories ,India ,São Tomé and Principe, Bangladesh ,Indonesia, Senegal, Belize ,Iran ,Solomon, Islands, Benin ,Iraq ,South Africa, Bhutan, Ivory Coast ,Sri Lanka ,Bolivia ,Jordan ,Sudan ,Bosnia-Herzegovina ,Kenya ,South Sudan, Brazil ,Kiribati, Suriname ,Burkina, Faso Kosovo Swaziland Burundi Laos Syria Cambodia Lesotho Tanzania Cameroon Macedonia Thailand Cape Verde Mali Timor-Leste Colombia, Marshall Islands ,Tonga, Costa Rica, Mauritania ,Turkmenistan, Cuba, Micronesia, Tuvalu ,Djibouti ,Moldova, Uganda ,DR Congo, Mongolia ,Ukraine, Ecuador ,Morocco, Uzbekistan, Egypt ,Mozambique ,Vanuatu ,El Salvador Namibia ,Vietnam ,Eritrea Nepal Yemen ,Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Zambia, Fiji,, Nigeria, Zimbabwe ,Georgia ,Pakistan ,Ghana Papua New Guinea.

Scholarship

The scholarships will be awarded on academic and professional merit.In January 2012 RNTC launched the RNTC Fellowship Fund to support journalists, programme-makers, broadcast trainers and managers from around the world who are looking to develop their media skills, but do not have enough financial means to pay for the costs of the course of their choice. RNTC Fellowships cover the course fee (up to 50%), not the costs for travel and accommodation. The number of fellowships that RNTC can provide, however, is small.

Application

When applying for the course, applicants must submit:

  • Letter of motivation (150-200 words), explaining why they think they qualify for one of these scholarships
  • Completed registration form
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Proof of proficiency in English
  • A statement from a sponsor or a bank demonstrating your ability to cover the rest of the costs associated with the course

Scholarship applications will have to be sent in together with the course application form and will be reviewed by a panel of professionals from RNTC, on a first come first served basis. The decision will be non-negotiable.
