Description
Analytica is opening a call for interns in its Security Policy Program.
The Foreign and Security Policy program encompasses the activities of Analytica which deal with contemporary security issues from a traditional and non-traditional standpoint and looks into the issue of governance as an emerging phenomenon in the relationship between governing institutions and citizens.
Building on the extensive work of the Analytica community on this issue, the Foreign and Security policy program attempts to bridge differences between the concepts of security and governance and to examine the contemporary security and political challenges from the aspects of both concepts. The aim is to develop more effective, empirical, field-based strategies for major security and governance programs.
The internship duration is from 30 April 2012 – 15 August 2012, in Skopje, Macedonia.
The selected intern will be given the opportunity to work in Analytica’s vibrant Security Policy program. It is expected that the intern respects Analytica’s working hours 09 – 1700hrs Monday – Friday. Some limited flexibility over the working hours is also available.
Some of the duties of the intern include: data collection, writing policy papers, support project implementation, press clipping, attending events locally and abroad, organizing events etc.
Eligibility
Analytica welcomes university students, both recent undergraduates and graduates from Macedonia, to apply for the residential internship. Good research, analytical and writing skills together with an excellent knowledge of English are a prerequisite. Candidates should have strong interest in security affairs or more specifically:
- Security Sector Reform
- Human Rights
- Regional Security Cooperation
- International Organizations (NATO, EU etc.)
- Defense
- Human Security
They expect that the candidates for this internship opportunity are familiar with security related topics. Candidates with background in security studies, legal studies, political science, international relations and journalism will be given priority.
Remuneration
Analytica is able to provide limited funds for the intern that would cover food and transportation costs.
