    1. Hello, boampong,

I don't think so, as you correctly pointed out that undergraduate "candidates should not have suspended education more than 2 years after graduation and not be older than 25 years on the date of application."

But, try to contact the Turkish Embassy appointed for your region and get more detailed information there, as they are the ones, who are responsible for the selection of candidates.
("Candidate is selected by the related country or Republic of Turkey by the foreign representatives.")

      Good luck,

      Kristina,

      1. Hello,

        1. I sent an e-mail asking about the summer program for learning turkish, but nobody has replied.
I need to contact them as soon as possible and know if this program is held this summer.
I talked to someone who works at the turkish embassy in my country, but he was not helpful.
          I need your help.

          1. Dear T,

I am very sorry, but we cannot help you get in touch with the representatives of the Turkish government in your country. We are not in contact with them in any way. Try contacting them again.

            Kind regards

    1. Hey citra,

The only information I could get is already there:
Turkish Language Summer Courses are organized in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Kayseri, Antalya and Samsun. Applicants can choose three provinces among them. Courses are not organized in provinces that have no adequate number of applicants. Course dates are from July 1st to August 31st.

You are a university student and therefore you are eligible.
Try to contact your local or nearest Turkish Embassy for more information.

      Best,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  2. I want to know when does the application for academic year 2011-2012 start? Also where can I find it? And can I apply with TOMER Sertifikasi, orta seviye basarisi?

    THANK YOU!

    1. Hello, Bojana,

Please, read. I believe it is 30 June for undergraduates, graduates, research.
Where can you find what? Application form? Again, please, read -> here: http://digm.meb.gov.tr/burslar/BURS_IC/ib_ekler/2
That should be delivered to your local or nearest Turkish Embassy.
And also, read: even more, when you have TOMER Sertifikasi, it might be even an advantage for you. –
And finally, read: Contact your local or nearest Turkish Embassy for more information.

      All the best,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

      1. Thank you Kristina.

I already have the certificate, but as it is said above, I need a diploma, not certificate. Can there be a big difference the fact that I didn't succeed in the highest level, but in the middle level of Tomer? And do you know if I can do TOMER for the second time?

        1. Hello again,

I think that if you are enrolled to the university of your choice and you lack the necessary level of language, they will provide you with Turkish courses ("Undergraduate and graduate students attend Turkish Courses at TÖMER for 1 year.") that will end in the TOMER diploma exams.

I think you just have to get in touch with the uni of your preference and ask them if the TOMER diploma is a prerequisite to be admitted or not and if yes, what about the 1-year language course.

I understand no Turkish (most info about is in Turkish) therefore I can't tell you, if you can sit it the second time, but usually, you can pass language exams as many times as you want, as long as you pay:)

Anyway, I still advise you to get in touch with your local or nearest Turkish Embassy for more information.

          Best,

          Kristina,
          Mladiinfo

    1. hello, Dave,

yes, I have noticed that, too. The things is it is the official webpage of the Turkish ministry and if they provide only the outdated version, it probably is the version, you are supposed to use. 🙂 Anyway, I am sure that if you contact your local or nearest Turkish Embassy, they will tell you more, or even, have the updated version of the application form.

      All the best,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

    1. Hey Iasr,

It is all in the official text.
"Candidates should apply to the authorized bodies of their own countries or to the Turkish Embassies/Consulates in their respective countries."
"Documents of candidates for undergraduate, graduate and research scholarships should be submitted to the Turkish Ministry of National Education through diplomatic channels before 30th June and the documents of candidates for Turkish Language Summer Course scholarships before 30th April same way."

So, contact your local Turkish Embassy.

    1. Hi, Kanat,

There is nothing mentioned about the need to have a degree in linguistics.

      Good luck,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  5. Hi… I have one question too:)
I'm a student on the 2nd year of Enlgish L.and literature, but my 2nd lang is Turkish , and I had one scholarship last year in Turkey.
I would ask you,is it possible to get once again that scholarship ,bacause somebody told me it's only once in a life 🙁

    1. Dear Almedina,

I would say your chances are thinner as it is logical that they want to give a chance to someone else. However, please try to contact your local Turkish Embassy/Center and ask there.

      All the best,

      Kristina,

      Mladiinfo

    2. hi almedina,

i have something to ask you. Would you be so kind to answer me, please? You were there last year, right? Did you have to have health report in english like they are asking this year? How did you get it? Did you go to the your local medical facility/Dom Zdravlja and asked for it in mother tongue and then official translator translated it into English? What did you say in Dom Zdravlja when you searched for health report? Purpose?

      Thank you in advance 🙂

  6. HI,
i am willing to apply for the turkish govt. undergraduate scholarship this time.
in the application form,i have to choose three universities and the respective faculties & subjects on which i like to study.can you please help me regarding some better universities in turkey where i can study biology related subjects like genetics or microbiology etc.i heard about METU.do i have to do any special courses like IELTS to apply in there?what will be my medium of study if i get the undergraduate scholarship?help me please.
    Thanking in advance,
    Shovonreza

    1. Hi, Shovonreza,

well, I heard about METU, too. Istanbul university and Ankara university maybe, too, are worth considering: http://www.istanbul.edu.tr/fen/en/mol/ http://www.science.ankara.edu.tr/fen2008/eng/inde

but you can get a look at other Turkish universities, for example, here: http://www.mladiinfo.com/category/unis/turkey/ (be aware that some of them are private).

In order to be admitted, each university has its own requirements and IELTS is not necessary in each case, as you will most probably study in Turkish language (after a 1-year course of Turkish language). For METU e.g. http://www.oidb.metu.edu.tr/english/application/i

My guess is, that your medium would be your local Turkish Embassy, as you have to arrange everything with their help.

      Best,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  7. thanks kristina,that helped a lot.
according to the information you provided, medium of study in METU is english.
so after taking 1 year TOMER corse, can i study at METU?does METU provide any language course?
    thanking again,
    shovonreza

    1. Dear, shovonreza,

I found this on the METU webpage:
"There are also courses at the Turkish Language Department. They are must courses for foreign students in undergraduate studies at METU but are also open to other students after agreement. For questions you can contact Neslihan Küçükler ( kucukler@metu.edu.tr) or ask directly at the department."

So, I would say to all of your questions. : )

      Regards,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  8. hi,

mechanical enginering,i mean is there any prohibition from the government
about choosing engineering faculties or universities?please help.
    thank you.

    1. Hi, anwar,

"Candidates should not have suspended education more than 2 years after graduation and not be older than 25 years on the date of application."
I think, yes, you are eligible, as it will be right 2 years after your graduation.

      Greetings,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  9. First of all thank you for the advise provided here.

And I would like to know if I can apply to Bogazici University where courses are in English knowing that I have a good level in English but

    regards,
    ajeyo

    1. Dear ajeyo,

me neither, i don’t understand it, but it is necessary, so…
Maybe try to have a look here: http://www.sampletemplates.org/medical-report-tem
or here is the certificate they are asking for Slovak Government Scholarships (http://www.studyin.sk/en/applicationGOV.pdf – at the end – a very detailed one)

It should be stated, however, that the “Candidates should not be infected with a contagious disease (HIV, Hepatitis-C and etc) or should not have a disease preventing his/her education in Turkey.”

In your place, I would try to contact your nearest Turkish Embassy and consult with them.

      Best,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  11. Hi,
i would like to know if i can apply for turkish summer course program, when i have graduated last year from 5 year university studies?
WHat do you think by health report?

    Thanks
    Iva

    1. Hi, Iva,

why not? I think yes, as they claim you should enclose the "Photocopy of diploma"

Plus, bear in mind that Mladiinfo is not Turkish Government, so I can tell you what THEY mean by the health report, but probably a general statement of your doctor that your health is in a good state (no HIV, no hepatitis and stuff like that).

      Hope that helps.

      Regards,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

And also, about the application procedure, you should get in touch with the Turkish Embassy in your region.

      Good luck,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  15. hi, Is it really necessary to apply to the university directly before applying for the scholarship?

I thought i was required to fill the name of the university i would have prefered to be admitted to.

    1. Hi, Shukri,

well, yes, usually it is like that.

"Candidate registers to the educational institution that he/she is accepted and applies for the scholarship."

So, you first have to be accepted and then apply for the scholarship, however, in the application form it is not very clear.

      Good luck,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  16. hello
i am student from iran, i was graduate around one month ago, i have bachelor degree, from which countries, persons can apply?
i mean whats your limit? can i apply for mater?

    1. Dear Ahmed,

is your question related to the post above?
A study plan is the outline of the studies you wish to undertake – say, you wish to start on 1 September 2011 and wish to take these and those courses and you would like to obtain, say, a Bachelor's degree by June 2013 etc.

      Hope that helps.

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

    1. Dear Arif,

Mladiinfo is not the Turkish government. Please read above the conditions of awarding the scholarships. You must first "register yourself to the educational institution that you are accepted to and then apply for the scholarship.

Application goes through the diplomatic channels, so you must inquire about possibilities at your local Turkish embassy.

      Best,

      Kristina,

    1. Dear Sami,

The decision-making process for the government scholarship programmes can sometimes take months. In addition, the deadline is still not over, so they probably haven't started the evaluation and selection process yet.
I believe they will get back to you after you are chosen, only a little patience, please.

      All the best,

      Kristina,
      Mladiinfo

  22. Dear Sirs,

I've finished the University in 2011 (this year). But I'd like to continue my education for Master's degree in Turkey, but the greatest desire of mine is to get the scholarship for the Master's.

And Is it possible to apply for the scholarship without the knowledge of the Turkish language?

And as far as I understand I should be accepted by the particular University first and then apply for the scholarship? Am I right?

    Thanks a lot.

    1. Dear Yulianna,

It is stated in the eligibility criteria that: "Research candidates should be a graduate of a 4-year university and have a good level of Turkish, English or French." So I suppose that if you do not speak Turkish, you have to have good knowledge of either English or French. However, in order to make sure (and for all other questions regarding the scholarship), please contact the people responsible at this address – digm@meb.gov.tr.

      Kind regards,
      Dijana
      Mladiinfo

    2. Dear Yulianna,

I don't know your exact undergraduate degree but if you want to apply master scholarships in Turkey there are many different options in master programs depend on the field of the program.
For eg: in history and Turkish language are Turkish International Cooperation Office give some scholarship for foreign students
or directly some private universities like Bilkent, TOBB, Koc, Sabanci or some state universities which have a good reputation like METU, Bosphorus, Hacettepe, Istanbul Technical University etc. give some scholarships.

In order to apply Top 3 universities which are METU, Bilkent and Bosphorus you have to show min IELTS 6.5(METU and Bilkent) – 7.0(Bosphorus Unv) and they required min 2.5 – 3.0 over 4.00 GPA
