Eur@dioNantes, a European Radio station based in Nantes has recently launched the selection process to choose a new team of interns. We are
looking for high-level bilingual (in French) students, with a background in political science, journalism, European studies or social sciences.
They must be interested in European issues and want to take part in professional journalistic training.
The internships last six months; the next intake will be on the March 5th 2010 (applications must be submitted by the end of January). The students
get a monthly allowance of €398 and their local travel expenses are reimbursed; they also may be eligible for other university scholarships.
How it works: as an intern, you will play a central role in the radio station, presenting shows, creating packages, recording audio, scripting shows. You will work together with French journalists, and you will establish contacts with European journalists, decision makers, experts and politicians from aross the EU.
The Eur@dioNantes team is composed of several young journalists who come from all over the European Union to the training centre in Nantes. They are coached by experienced French professionals. Together, over the course of six months, they create new ways of listening to European news. They immerse themselves in the local issues and compare what they see and hear to the wider frame of European newsgathering. They try to open new perspectives and consider the implications of what is happening, be it on the cultural, economic, social or political level.
Those young students in journalism are therefore lucky enough to be trained in a unique background, and they will start their career in a
dynamic European environment. If you want to be an intern, you can find more details and the application form on radio’s website
