Description

The Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CRASSH) at the University of Cambridge offers Visiting Fellowships to scholars from the Global South. These fellowships aim to facilitate intellectual exchange between researchers from ODA-listed countries and the academic community at Cambridge. Fellows will have the opportunity to engage with CRASSH’s interdisciplinary environment, access the University’s extensive collections, and participate in seminars and events. The fellowship seeks to foster future collaborations and scholarly exchanges.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must have been awarded a PhD at least five years before the application date.
  • Must be employed at a higher education institution in a country listed as an ODA recipient by the OECD.
  • Research proposals should align with the fellowship’s thematic focus for the year. For instance, the 2025 fellowship theme is “Religious Boundaries,” emphasizing inter-religious relations and boundary-making.

How to Apply

  1. Prepare Application Materials:
    • A detailed research proposal (800–1000 words) aligning with the fellowship’s thematic focus.
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV) highlighting academic achievements and publications.
    • A sample of written work, such as a journal article.
    • Contact details of at least one academic staff member at the University of Cambridge you wish to collaborate with during the fellowship.
    • A letter of recommendation from a referee, to be submitted directly to the application system.
