Description:

The AREF (Africa Research Excellence Fund) Research Development Fellowship Programme 2024-2025 aims to support the professional development of early-career researchers from sub-Saharan Africa. The programme is designed to provide training, mentorship, and research collaboration opportunities that will help researchers build their capacity to develop and lead research projects independently. The fellowship enables fellows to work on cutting-edge health research while spending time at a leading research institution in the UK or Europe. Through this experience, fellows will gain access to resources, mentorship, and networks that will allow them to enhance their skills, develop innovative research projects, and build long-term collaborations with international experts.

Eligibility:

The postdoctoral researcher should be a professional scientist or clinician with a higher degree of clinical and research experience and holds a postdoctoral position.Candidates must be citizens and working in an African country. Candidates should have preliminary discussions with the senior leaders on his or her employing organization and host organization, which let the Scientific Alignment take place. There is no age limit mentioned.

  • Research costs related to the fellow’s project.
