Postcards from Home, Photo contest

Open to: anyone above 14 years old
Award: two grand prizes: Netbook Computer

What does home mean to you? A special spot in your neighborhood? A community festival? A family gathering? Grab your camera, get creative and share a photo that represents your unique cultural backyard!

Eligibility

1. Contestants must be 14 years or older at the time of the submission (If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to participate)
2. The Contest is open to individuals of all countries worldwide
3. Entries must be original content

Application requirements

1. Entries must respond to the theme of the contest, “Postcards from Home.”
2. Entries must include a title, a description, a tag for the Contestant’s home country and the tag “postcard”
3. Entry text must be in English or include an English translation
4. Each Contestant is limited to submitting two (2) entries for consideration
5. Entries will be judged by a panel from the U.S. Department of State on originality, creativity, effectiveness, and photo qualit

Registration

The person named as the registered owner of the ExchangesConnect user account profile associated with the Entry will be considered the Contestant and will be the only person eligible to compete for the grand prize.

1. First, you must sign up for ExchangesConnect
2. Take an original digital photo that addresses our theme and represents a unique aspect of your home
3. Click the “Enter Photo Contest” button below for further instructions on adding a descriptive title, caption, and tagging your photo

Award

  • Two Grand Prize winners will receive a Netbook computer (Asus Eee PC Seashell 1201n) and their entries will be displayed at the U.S. Department of State
  • Runners-up will receive ExchangesConnect T-shirts and real postcards featuring the top 20 submissions

  1. the photo contest will be a good way to develop my son's hobby…I think I'm going to recommend him to join this contest…but, do the contestants have to pay the registration??or it is for free??thanks for the information….
