Description

“Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival” is an annual thematic Film Festival that takes place in a different Balkan city each year. It celebrates Balkan diversity and engages the audience and creators to reflect on pressing contemporary issues through the medium of short film. The festival is framed by other cultural events like photo exhibitions, visual art events, master classes, live bands, networking events.

In 2019, it celebrates its 10th Edition in Athens in October 2019 (exact dates will be announced in July). The 10th Edition of Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival builds upon the thematic “e-motions”

Our world is an open space where knowledge, memories, experiences, and sentiments are transmitted and accommodated translocally. Motion can bring change and emotions to our life. They invite all artists to turn their mood on “e-motion” mode and share with us their short film.

BBB gives the opportunity to the next generation of filmmakers to create, share and present their films, meet and collaborate. The main objective of BBB is to motivate young people to make use of their creativity in order to reflect on issues of concern in their region.

Eligibility

They accept all film genres with duration up to 30 minutes focusing on fiction, animation, experimental and documentary shorts, as well as digital arts by filmmakers up to the age of 35 inspired by the topic. If the participant is not from the Balkan region the production can be Balkan or the film to refer to the Balkans.
