With its travel grants the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe wants to give young people the opportunity to travel and explore Europe. The Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe offers young people the chance to get to know European neighbours as well as to become aware of current cultural or political developments of the continent. The travel grantees report about their insights and experiences with a travel report.

Applicants can freely choose their European country or countries of destination. The trip needs to have a specifically defined research topic regarding a current cultural or political development in the context of European integration or European identity. It needs to be explained and elaborated in the application. The applicant should also state what methods are envisaged to address the topic (e.g. interviews, etc). A later substantial change of the topic would need to be approved by the Foundation.

Eligibility

  • Aged between 18 and 27;
  • Residing in one of the 47 Council of Europe member states.

Grant

The travel grant amounts to 550 EUR.

How to Apply?

Applications need to be submitted via the online application form on the website of the Schwarzkopf Foundation. With the application the Schwarzkopf Foundation expects:

  • A definition of the research topic and justification of the choice of the country;
  • Details on the envisaged methods to address the research topic as well as the planned travel route.

The deadline for applying is March 19, 2017 at 23:59 CET. The Foundation notifies applicants of the selection results two weeks after the deadline.
