Future Worlds Center is inviting experienced professionals engaged in youth work, media and communications and the science
of Dialogic Design to participate as mentors in a global initiative Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era that aims to reinvent a new system of governance by proposing new and innovative actions. The initiative aims to engage youth with mentors who will assist them with their tasks throughout the duration of the project. The mentorship program aims to:
- Engage experts and inspiring individuals to this global initiative and use their knowledge and experience to enhance global change;
- Assist participants with further improving their knowledge, reaching their full potential and keeping them motivated and active throughout the project;
- Create global networks of youth activists that are supported by established individuals.
Each mentor will mentor 5 Mentees, one per region. The Mentees will choose their Mentors using the available information in their respective pages and their personal videos.
Eligibility
There will be three kinds of mentors: Peer, Media and SDDP Mentors.
- Peer empowerment and Support Mentors – these are other young people from across the world who have already demonstrated a unique ability and braveness to pursue their personal aspiration in some aspect of life. They will serve both as inspiration and as resource for ideas. Their role is to engage in brainstorming together with their mentees about options for taking action and also empower them in taking the steps needed to convert their visions and ideas into action;
- Mentors in Digital Communication and Strategy – these are interactional experts and/or scientists in the fields of communication strategy, communication policy, promotion and dissemination of results. Their role is to mentor the mentee in all her/his efforts from developing a strategy to promote her/his messages all the way to identifying, contacting and convincing relevant stakeholders and/or decision makers to support them in all their endeavours;
- Mentors in the science of Dialogic Design – these are scientists and experts in the Science of Dialogic Design. Their role is to support and help the Mentees to learn more and master the theory and practice of the Science of Dialogic Design. They will also support the Mentees learn the different roles in organizing an SDD Co-Lab and help them launch their own regional dialogues.
