Description
The programme of national (and regional) training courses in human rights education of the Youth Department continues in 2016 aiming to support the development of human rights education through youth work and non-formal learning. It aims to consolidate and support the role of non-governmental youth organisations as actors in the implementation of the Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education.
The courses are organised at the initiative of national organisations or institutions interested in introducing, and developing the provisions and quality of human rights education. With this call, the Council of Europe’s Youth Department invites for expressions of interest for national training courses to be held in 2016.
Eligibility
Proposals are welcome from:
- Non-governmental youth organisations and/or other non-governmental organisations;
- Governmental organisations primarily those focused on human rights, youth and/or education;
- Institutions involved in human rights education;
- National networks of human rights activists and/or human rights educators.
Grants
The programme of activities of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe foresees full support (financial, educational and institutional) to a maximum of 5 training courses in 2016. As for financial support the overall contribution requested from the Council of Europe cannot exceed EUR 7,000; most often, the financial support is between EUR 4,000 and 6,000.

The deadline for applications is 16 December 2015. All expressions of interest must be sent to the Youth Department using the appended form by email to dys.nrtc@coe.int. Partners will be informed about the results by 31 January 2016.
