Description
The Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), in collaboration with the Egyptian government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), offers the TICAD8 African Scholarships for STI. This initiative aims to cultivate high-quality human resources in Science, Technology, and Innovation, fostering a robust African STI network. The program provides comprehensive support for African students to pursue M.Sc. or Ph.D. degrees, emphasizing practical research and innovation.
Eligibility
- Nationality: Applicants must be nationals of African countries, excluding Egypt, and currently residing in Africa.
- Academic Background:
- M.Sc. Applicants: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent.
- Ph.D. Applicants: M.Sc. (thesis-based) in a related discipline with a distinguished academic record.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English demonstrated by TOEFL iBT (minimum score of 79) or IELTS Academic (minimum score of 6.5).
- Military Status: Applicants must not be serving in the military.
- Commitment: We prefer candidates intending to return to their home institutions after graduation; endorsement from the home institution is required.

- Complete the application form and upload all required documents by February 8, 2025.
- Selection Process:
- Primary Screening: Evaluation of submitted documents.
- English Proficiency Test: For non-native speakers without valid TOEFL/IELTS scores, an online test is scheduled for February 19-20, 2025.
- Interviews and Exams: Shortlisted candidates will undergo online interviews and exams between March 23-27, 2025.
- Final Results: Announcements will be made on April 30, 2025.
- Post-Acceptance:
- Submit original, certified documents by May 31, 2025.
- Arrive at E-JUST by September 19, 2025.
- Undergo medical check-up and attend orientation sessions.
- Commence lectures on September 28, 2025.
