Become a CEE Mentor (CEE Program)

Deadline:  September 11, 2024.
Open to: CEE Mentors must be at least 28 years of age. U.S. citizens and international candidates who have participated in U.S. Government-funded exchange programs are eligible to apply. Non-U.S. citizens must be eligible for a J-1 visa.
Benefits: CEE Mentors will receive compensation for their role. The program covers costs related to travel for in-person orientations in Chicago and Washington, D.C., as well as other program-related expenses.

Description:

The Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program is a global initiative seeking experienced civil society leaders to serve as CEE Mentors for 2025. CEE Mentors will guide and support Fellows throughout their fellowship by providing resources, networks, and insights. Mentors contribute to the online Academy, attend workshops, and facilitate key events. The program is open to both U.S. citizens and international candidates with a background in U.S. Government-funded exchange programs.

Mentors will participate in in-person orientations and virtual sessions, including the Mentor Development Training in Chicago and the End of Program Workshop in Washington, D.C. Mentors will provide monthly mentorship and assist Fellows in their Community Engagement Projects.

Eligibility:

  • Age: Must be 28 or older.
  • Citizenship: Open to U.S. citizens and international participants eligible for a J-1 visa. U.S. citizens must have participated in a U.S. Government-funded exchange program, such as CEP Exchange, Fulbright, or Peace Corps.
  • Experience: Applicants must have professional experience in civil society and community engagement. Prior experience in mentoring emerging leaders is highly preferred.

Benefits:

CEE Mentors will be compensated for their contributions, and the program covers all travel and accommodation costs for in-person events, including Mentor Development Training and the End of Program Workshop.
