The Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity in South Africa, based at Tekano, is a dynamic fellowship program aimed at developing leaders who are dedicated to advancing health equity and social justice across Africa. This 12-month fellowship offers a blend of in-person and online modules designed to equip fellows with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to address health disparities and drive systemic change.

The fellowship is grounded in Tekano’s principles of transformation, solidarity, and equity, providing a comprehensive curriculum that includes seminars, workshops, field visits, and mentorship. Fellows engage in critical discussions on health equity, develop leadership capabilities, and implement community-based projects that address pressing health challenges in their own contexts.

Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Open to citizens of African countries
  • Profession: Health professionals, activists, and advocates committed to health equity
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in health, social justice, or community development
  • Requirements: Strong leadership potential, commitment to social justice, ability to participate in both online and in-person components, and a clear vision for a health equity project
