The University of Ottawa is pleased to announce the availability of PhD Position for the applicants from all over the world.The university seeking a highly qualified and motivated PhD graduate student to work on a research project titled “Modulation of human gut microbiota using psychobiotics” led by Dr. Riadh Hammami.

The aim of the position is to provide an opportunity for young researchers.

The University of Ottawa recognized, as the first and largest bilingual university in North America, provides its 40,000 students and 5,500 employees with a dynamic and stimulating environment where research and knowledge are fundamental to all aspects of university life.

Eligibility

  • The candidate should hold an M.Sc. degree in environmental microbiology/microbial ecology or a related field;
  • Previous exposure to and experience with basic microbiology and molecular biology techniques is essential;
  • Experience in microbe isolation and identification, standard molecular methods, and fermentation is preferred;
  • Team-orientation and excellent communication skills are expected.

Fellowship

The PhD candidate will be employed for 3 years starting from January 2018. The successful candidate will run for an annual fellowship of 25,000 USD.
