Description

Visegrad School of Political Studies Meets Russia is the newest program of the School that aims at supporting civil society, combating stereotypes and strengthening ties between young social and political leaders from Visegrad Group and Russia. Thank to generous support of the Council of Europe and the Department of Public and Cultural Democracy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland the program is full scholarship initiative, with all costs including travel covered. The sessions will be organized by the European Academy of Diplomacy in cooperation with our Russian partner.

Program will focus on three main topics:

  • Experience of Eastern Europe in the formation of institutions of civil society;
  • The development of civil society and fostering participatory democracy;
  • Public diplomacy: the role of social and cultural initiatives & opportunities and mechanisms of cooperation and effective interaction.

Eligibility

Program is addressed to aspiring journalists, local and regional media representatives and activists from Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Russia. The ideal candidate has a proven track history of involvement and engagement within their community, demonstrating a leadership potential and desire to take an active role in positively shaping the world around them. Participants should be between the ages of 26-40 with 3+ years of working experience and proven track history of involvement and engagement within their community society (i.e. involvement in NGO sector, student’s unions, local and national political parties). English language competency level C1 is required. The program targets a minimum of 50% female participants.

Costs

Program is a scholarship initiative covering all costs except for visa (if applicable). Participants will be accommodated in twin occupancy, same gender rooms.
