Description
Co-Opinion is a policy-oriented youth solidarity network under the aegis of Youth Deal Cooperative that brings together influential youth NGOs, student councils and clubs, and academic institutes primarily in to offer policy proposals addressing the problems of the youth from the perspective of the youth themselves. This network advocates an integrated approach for youth policies in the region of Middle East and North Africa to improve the agency of youth and to enhance their economic and social prospects, by producing academic knowledge, engaging in the relevant policy-oriented projects, and by founding participatory institutional mechanisms for the youth.
Co-Opinion Youth Network cordially invites applicants to the 1st Co-Opinion Annual Youth Summit titled “Youth Empowerment: Political Participation & Economic Development in the Middle East & North Africa” which will be held on 2 – 4 October 2015 at Boğaziçi University, Istanbul. The Stakeholder Institutions of the Co-Opinion Network decided to focus on four challenges that the youth face in the Middle East & North Africa:
- Youth Unemployment and Informality;
- Youth Entrepreneurship;
- Radicalization of the Youth;
- Youth Civic Participation.
Eligibility
Undergraduate and graduate students, young activists and professionals, young entrepreneurs, representatives of NGOs, academics, and journalists are eligible for applying to be participant in the summit. The panels will be open to everyone, however there will be a registration process based on the availability of seats.
Costs
No participation fee will be charged for the participants. The costs of accommodation will be covered by the Co-Opinion Network only for the workshop participants from abroad and only for three nights, 1-3 October. The on-ground transportation for the workshop participants (except for the arrival to the hotel on the first day and departure from the hotel on the last day of event) will be covered.

The deadline for applications is 8 September 2015. To apply please fill in the online application form. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is an application procedure for the workshop participants. The participants who attend all workshops will be qualified for certification.
