Description
Hostwriter is a global collaboration network for journalists, journalistic bloggers, journalism students and documentary filmmakers. With the hostwriter search engine you can find colleagues who share your research interests and your journalistic passion. The #hostwriterPrize awards an overall of EUR 6,000 for pieces of collaborative journalism (at least two journalists working together) and for a promising story pitch.
Eligibility
Submission from all media are accepted. The piece may be in any language, but the application has to be in English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic or Hebrew plus an abstract in English. The HostWriter platform must have played a part in your research. However, whether you used it to get advice from a fellow journalist, stayed at a colleagues’s couch during a research trip, or even found a partner to do a collaborative cross-border story with, is completely up to you. If you’ve got a great story, but have not used the platform, maybe you should consider adding a few more information to it.
Prizes
The prizes are divided in three categories:
- 1st Place: EUR 3,000;
- 2nd Place: EUR 2,000;
- Pitch Prize: EUR 1,000.
