Description
The Käte Hamburger Kolleg / Centre for Global Cooperation Research is a research institute of the University of Duisburg-Essen, that seeks to contribute towards a better understanding of the possibilities and limits of transboundary cooperation.
The Centre invites applications for research fellowships beginning in October 2015. Fellowships are mainly offered in the fields of the humanities and social sciences (including social psychology), but may also be granted to scholars in economics, law and the natural sciences. The fellows will join the Centre for a period of 6 to 12 months.
In 2015 the research will focus on “Micro-Politics and Patterns of Legitimation in International Negotiation Arenas”. The Centre invites theoretical and conceptual contributions, discourse and narrative analysis, and also welcome empirical case studies on the role of state and non-state actors in global and regional negotiation processes. They are especially interested in projects that bring together insights from interaction between individual and group levels of cooperation in the context of collective action problems.
Eligibility
The fellowships are open to international researchers. Female researchers and scholars from the Global South are particularly encouraged to apply.

Fellowships include a working space in fully equipped offices and a competitive stipend commensurate with the applicant’s level of professional experience.
