Description
Delfina Foundation in London, UK, is inviting applicants from the Arab World and India for the Research Fellowship 2014 focusing on intensive research in the field of visual culture.
The Research Fellowship 2014, in partnership with INIVA (Institute of International Visual Arts), Goldsmiths College’s Department of Visual Cultures, and the PhD Program in Curatorial/Knowledge offers a unique research opportunity in the field of visual culture primarily by curators and researchers. Successful applicants will benefit from the research and the curatorial work done by the fellowship partner institutions. Priority will be given to ideas feasible within the fellowship’s 3-month research frame. Participants should develop a blueprint for a future project (e. g. publication, exhibition, etc.). Artists are welcome to apply; however this residency is largely focused on the development of critical-curatorial discourse, not singularly artistic practice or projects.
Eligibility
Applicants must be artists, curators, and researchers with proven work experience in the field of visual culture living and working in India and the Arab World. Applicants should also be available during the autumn 2014 term and must not take up other commitments and travel during the fellowship. Proficiency in English is a must and practical experience will be considered although it is only optional.
Benefits
The fellowship recipients will receive the following benefits:
- A 12 week residency (from 23 September – 15 December 2014) in London, including one economy return flight to London, financial support for basic living costs, and accommodation;
- Access to attend Goldsmith’s post-graduate courses and the Curatorial/Knowledge seminars;
- Access to the Iniva’s Stuart Hall Library and Archive;
- An opportunity to assist with INIVA and Delfina Foundation’s programming;
- Goldsmiths, Iniva and Delfina Foundation will provide a networking platform to the recipients to meet fellow research scholars, artists and professionals in the field of contemporary art in London.
Application
Applicants are requested to submit the application form, CV/Resume, examples of relevant work (preferably two writing samples) to the relevant email address in the application form. Documents will be accepted in electronic format only.
Deadline for applications is 9 June 2014.
