Description
The Open Education Challenge, launched in partnership with the European Commission, is part of Startup Europe. All innovators can submit projects, receive mentoring and seed funding through the European Incubator for Innovation in Education, and get direct access to investors from day one.
You are a team of innovators. You are passionate about education. You are convinced that technology will deeply transform the way we learn, teach and train. You have created, or are about to create, a company that will innovate in education.
All projects are welcome; the only condition is that they must contribute to transforming education. Your proposal can address, for instance, one or more of the following:
- Learning contents
- Devices, tools and connectivity
- Learning assessment and analytics
- School management and organisation
- Learning communities.
You will:
- Design your prototype.
- Test it in real classrooms or corporate learning environments.
- Develop a sustainable business strategy.
- Benefit from a unique learning experience:
- Connecting with researchers, practitioners and users.
- Continuous interaction with peers.
- Complete immersion in the European market.
Eligibility
Applicants may be aspiring entrepreneurs or existing startups in the first stage of development. They accept applications from all over the world and not only those from the European Union. All selected startup teams must commit full time to the incubation process. All selected startups will be required to have registered or register within the EU.
Prize
They will select the 10 most promising startups to join the Incubator:
- 12 weeks – 24×7.
- In successive European cities: Barcelona, Paris, London, Berlin and Helsinki.
- With the best European experts in education, technology and entrepreneurship.
You and your team will get:
- Mentoring and coaching from the Open Education Challenge team.
- Seed funding of up to €20,000.
- Access to investors from day one.
