Description
Mirko Ilić Corp. was established in 1995 as a multi-disciplinary studio specializing in graphic design, 3D animation, motion picture titles, and illustration. The studio is especially known for its strong visual concepts. Mirko Ilić Corp. has received awards from various organizations including the Society of Illustrators, the Society of Publication Designers, the Art Directors Club, I.D. Magazine, Print Magazine, HOW magazine, the Society of Newspaper Design, and more.
Mirko Ilić has written several books with Steve Heller, including Genius Moves: 100 Icons of Graphic Design, Handwritten, and The Anatomy of Design. He has also written The Design of Dissent with Milton Glaser. Now, honoring the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s passing, design writer, Steve Heller and Mirko Ilić are creating a book that showcases poster design work for Shakespeare plays.
Eligibility
They are accepting published work from around the world. This is a Call for Entries for designs of published posters, rather than student or personal work.
Award
The selected poster designs will be published in a book by Princeton Architectural Press and possibly included in an exhibition to bring attention to Shakespeare’s influence and continued presence in modern day theater. The intention is to create a showcase of some of the greatest graphic performance posters for Shakespeare plays.
Organizers are also looking to organize a major exhibition of the original posters to both promote the book and bring attention to Shakespeare’s continued presence in modern day theater.
Application
The deadline for submissions is 14 March 2014.
Please send JPGs or TIFFs of the works at 10 inches on longest side of image at 300dpi. If you are sending more than one image, please do not attach the high resolution images to your email. Upload all your images to a file sharing program such as WeTransfer or Hightail. Or you can upload the images and include the URLs in your reply.
