Soros Educational Center Foundation has the pleasure to invite you to participate on a free Grundtvig workshop in Transylvania: “Tools and Approaches for Educators in Adult Literacy”. The workshop will be organized in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania on June 15-21, 2014. 

The main activities include:

  • short overview of the situation of literacy for adults in the participants’ countries and the EU policy regarding literacy;
  • similarities and differences on literacy problems and illiteracy in the participating countries;
  • teaching methods and their adaptation to country/local context;
  • presenting motivation techniques, that can be used in literacy education for adults;
  • sharing practical experience in literacy education for adults.

Eligibility

The workshop is open to teachers, trainers, adults and facilitators who work in the field of literacy for adults. Eligible countries are: EU members, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia.

Costs

All costs of the workshop, including travel, accommodation and subsistence costs of participants will be covered by the workshop organizer, with the support of the European Commission’s Grundtvig programme. However participants have to purchase their airplane and/or train tickets, the costs of these tickets being reimbursed on their arrival to the workshop venue (Miercurea Cius) up to the sum of 400 euros/person, based on the invoices and copies of all travel documents.
