Erasmus Mundus Basileus V Balkan-EU Exchange

Scholarship: monthly living stipend (1000€ BA/MA; 1500€ PhD; 1800€ postdoc; 2500€ staff); plus insurance, participation costs, and roundtrip travel expenses

Description

Basileus V is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project and is funded by the European Commission. The project consortium consists of 10 EU universities and 10 universities in the Western Balkans. Basileus IV provides funding for academic mobility from:

• any Western Balkan institution to one of the EU partner universities
• one of the EU partner universities to one of the Western Balkan partner universities

Eligibility

Other nationals of the participating Western Balkan countries can apply, on the condition they have obtained a higher education degree in the Western Balkans. Eligible Western Balkan countries are: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia.  Students and staff members of all partner universities, both from the Western Balkan countries and the EU, as well as other nationals of the participating Western Balkan countries, can apply for scholarships.

All types of mobility are given a chance: Bachelor, Master, PhD, postdoc and staff. You can check the mobility scheme in detail here. Please note that there is some flexibility in this schedule.

Priority for exchange goes to Social Sciences, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Business/Management and Languages/Philology. Other fields of study however are allowed as well. Scholarship

All mobility must start the latest 31 December 2014 for students  (except for PhD 34 months: 15 September 2014 is their latest starting date!).

The scholarships consist of a subsistence allowance; full travel, health and accident insurance; participation costs to host universities; and one return travel ticket for transportation.

The subsistence allowance amounts are:

• 1000 € per month for undergraduate and graduate students (BA and MA);
• 1500 € per month for doctorate students (PhD);
• 1800 € per month for post-doctorate students (postdoc);
• 2500 € per month for staff.
