Description
The Embassies of the Slovak Republic in several countries are offering scholarships for a 10-month language and academic preparation at the Institute of Language and Academic Preparation for Foreign Students of the Centre of Further Education of Comenius University in Bratislava starting in September 2013.
The study is focused on the Slovak language and academic preparation for entrance examinations at public universities in the Slovak Republic for the purpose of further full-time 1st plus 2nd degree study of programs with technical orientation.
Scholarship recipients can study at the Slovak public universities under the same conditions as the Slovak citizens. There is no tuition for regular study in the Slovak language at public universities in Slovakia.
Within the Modernization Program Slovensko 21 (Slovakia 21) as approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Slovak Republic No. 367/2008 dated June 4th, 2008, the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic offers the possibility of study in the Slovak Republic to graduates from secondary schools in Belarus, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Moldavia, Serbia, Macedonia, Ukraine and Montenegro.
The scholarship includes free of charge 10-month language and academic preparation at the Institute of Language and Academic Preparation for Foreign Students of the Center of Further Education of the Comenius University in Bratislava (UJOP) with scholarship granted by the Government of the Slovak Republic in the amount of 280,- EUR/month + single contribution in the amount of 35,- EUR for the student to pay for accommodation, board and other expenses related to his/her study in the Slovak Republic.
The above mentioned study is focused on language and academic preparation of the students for entrance examination to the universities in the Slovak Republic for the purpose of their further university study in Slovak language within study programs with technical orientation.
The study at the universities in the Slovak Republic is performed within 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree of the university studies (i.e. bachelor (3 years), engineer/ master (2 years) and PhD study (3 years). Within the Modernization Program Slovensko 21 (Slovakia 21), it is expected that the students from mentioned countries complete at least the 2nd degree of university study in the Slovak Republic, i.e. engineer/master study.
Note: The university students from mentioned countries study in the Slovak Republic in Slovak language pursuant to the internal legal regulations of the Slovak Republic under the same conditions as the Slovak students do, i.e. without paying fees. Costs of accommodation, board and other expenses during his/her university studies are paid by the student himself/herself. The current average amount of the above mentioned costs in the Slovak Republic is 250,- EUR/month.

Eligibility
This opportunity is available to graduates from secondary schools in Belarus, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Moldavia, Serbia, Macedonia, Ukraine and Montenegro.
Application
The Ministry of Education of the mentioned countries, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic, selects applicants for the university study in the Slovak Republic within the study programs with technical orientation. It provides the list of applicants, including fully completed applications with supporting documents to the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic through diplomatic channels of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic till May 31st, 2013.

- The Study Results from the College or Results from the Higher Education Institution, if available;
- Birth Certificate (verified translation into English or Slovak);
- Curriculum Vitae (signed);
- Medical Certificate (enclosed form);
- The Document of Integrity (not older than 90 days).
