  1. Painter would be insane to leave Purdue. As an Illinois fan, I atriecpape all the success that Painter has accomplished at Purdue. I also lived in St. Louis for 18 years after graduate school, have several friends that are Missouri fans, and yes, there’s Walmart money in Columbia, but this is not as top a job as Purdue, Matt will have more continued success at PU than at Missouri, Columbia is not a great place to live and the player talent currently, and historically, at Missouri is not going to be near the level that Painter has, and will continue to recruit at Purdue. Matt’s a Big 10 guy and long-term, he won’t be happy in Columbia. The AD at Purdue needs to step up and increase Matt’s salary, as well as all the assistant coaches, and lock him in to an extension to keep him at Purdue. He’s a talented coach and it would be a shame to have him leave West Lafayette.
