Description
The School of Politics, International Studies and Philosophy at the Queen’s University in Belfast actively seeks to offer funding to outstanding applicants for postgraduate study.
The School has been awarded six studentships funded by the Department of Employment and Learning (DEL) in Northern Ireland to fund students commencing a research degree in September 2013.
Of the six studentships:
- Two will be awarded for research projects in any area or areas where the School has distinctive research strengths
- Four will be awarded for specific research projects, namely:
- Emerging Security Governance in the Cyber Domain: Technology, Politics, and Rights in practice
- Peace Filmmaking in Kashmir and Northern Ireland
- From London to Rio: Hospitality, Governance and Protest at the Olympics
- Cross-Community Identities in Deeply Divided Societies: the case of Northern Ireland
Eligibility
The studentships are available to UK and other EU and EEA nationals.
The required academic qualification is a first or upper second class honours degree from a university in the United Kingdom or Ireland, or qualifications and experienceconsidered by the university as equivalent to this standard.

Studentship
Each studentship will cover approved tuition fees and maintenance payments for three years.
Research Studentships amount is £13,590
