Slovak EVS Project Needs 2 Youth from Macedonia

Mladiinfo FEJS MK is looking for two EVS volunteers from Macedonia available for the period 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014. The two volunteers will take part in the long term EVS project « Be A.C.T.I.V.E!Be Active Citizenship Through Innovation, Values and Education! » hosted by ICM Krupina, a Youth Information Centre located in Krupina, Slovakia.

The long-term EVS project “Be A.C.T.I.V.E!” is hosted by ICM Krupina, a Youth Information Centre and member of the ICM’s Slovak network. The main task of ICM Krupina is to provide information on different services and support to the local youth. The main office of the hosting organization ICM is located in the centre of the small town of Krupina, Slovakia, where young people come not only to get information and support about educational opportunities, studying abroad, affordable travel opportunities, volunteering, cultural events, drug prevention, leisure time tips, etc., but also because of different meetings and sessions in the new tea-room located next to the ICM office.

ICM tries to help young people turn their ideas into reality through supporting the organization of different kinds of event such as mini festivals, exhibitions and local sport competitions. In this innovative environment, EVS volunteers will become a part of ICM’s team and they will be actively involved in the duties mentioned above. The project will give them the opportunity to share their previous experience and to raise their own ideas and initiatives and enrich the work of ICM in this way. ICM volunteers are always encouraged to lead their own projects (amateur film festivals, concerts, workshops, intercultural events, etc.) with the intent to make EVS projects more interesting.

In addition, ICM actively cooperates with the “Leisure Time Centre – LTC” in which the volunteers will have the chance to work with local children in leisure clubs and organize social games, entertainment events or educational activities. Volunteers will choose their tasks and activities according to their interests, free time, abilities and skills that they want to improve.

The EVS project will cover the following costs:

  • Accommodation
  • Food and pocket money
  • Travel costs – 90 percent
  • Health insurance – AXA
  • Visa costs
  • Free Slovak language lessons for 12 months 

Eligibility

Mladiinfo is looking for young and motivated enthusiasts, open for new experiences in life. Volunteers should be cheerful, serious, open-minded, eager to learn a lot, but also ready for new friendships.

The only requirement is fluency in English and an interest in being involved in the activities of the Youth Information Centre “ICM Krupina.” However, at the beginning of their voluntary activity they will receive a short coordination training for all activities where their involvement would be expected.
