European Training Course for EVS Support People, Turkey

The training course is designed for those who are directly involved in the support system around the EVS volunteer (mentors and task-related support persons) on the hosting, sending and coordinating side. The participants from Sending and Hosting organisations should already have some experience in EVS (minimum of being in the process of sending or hosting a volunteer, better having been already sending or receiving the first volunteer).

Objectives

The main objective is to increase the quality of EVS activities through development of competencies (knowledge, skills and attitudes) of key actors involved in the support system around EVS volunteer.

The specific objectives of the course are:

  • To get a better understanding of the concept of EVS as “learning service” and related quality aspects in EVS
  • To improve the ability for co-operation and working in international partnership
  • To reflect on the roles, responsibilities and challenges within the EVS volunteer support system
  • To raise awareness of the learning dimension in EVS and provide tools for learning support
  • To support the recognition of non formal learning in EVS through the implementation of the Youthpass

Eligibility

This training course is eligible for max 30 participants from Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South East Europe (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo), Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, Eastern Europe and Caucasus ( Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine)

Costs

This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the National Agencies (NA) or SALTO involved in this project – except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses. If you come from a country other than Programme Countries, please contact the host NA for further information about the financial details. The list of the National agencies can be found here.

Application procedure

Before applying please contact the NA of your residence country to check if it is involved in this concrete project and committed to cover travel costs. NB! Learn about possible participation fee and other relevant rules.

        National Coordinator For Youth Alliance For Positive Change In Sierra
        Leone, A community based organization which mainly deals with behavior
        change among youths, civic education, our main objective is to empower
        youths with leadership skills, entrepreneurship, and also advocate for
        reproductive health and also because our country is going to have
        another general election I fill their is need for proper civic
        education a knowledge I believe I can perfectively get when I attended
        the training, and with what had happened in the last general election
        (post election violence) youth of our country need to have quality
        leaders who can build peace among us, thanks and may I be part of the
        change we need
