Description

Caucasus International (CI) is an international academic journal that publishes articles by leading experts, leaders and thinkers engaged with the most pressing issues in the Caucasus region and its neighborhood.
CI is pleased to announce the launch of a new essay competition for undergraduate studentsThe competition aims to encourage ambitious and interested students, and to provide future leaders with the opportunity to demonstrate innovative thinking on pressing international issues.  

Eligibility

The students who are citizens of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Russia and Turkey, studying in their home countries or abroad can participate in this contest. The essay topic is: “How can the South Caucasus achieve regional integration and security?” The essays should be about 1,200 to 1,500 words, and should be original, unpublished work that demonstrates clear thinking and good writing skills. Entries must be written in English. Only one essay per participant is permitted.

Prize

The winning essay will be publish in the next issue of the journal. The winner will also receive a cash prize of US$400, and two honorable mentions will receive a one-year subscription to Caucasus International.

Application

Please send entries to editor@cijournal.org. and do not also forget to indicate “Essay Contest 2012” in the subject line of your submissions. For your essay to be considered, it must be both pasted in the body of the e-mail and attached as a separate Word document. The entry should include your name, phone number, e-mail address, institutional affiliation, and a scanned copy of your student identification.
We are accepting submissions by e-mail. Entries that do not meet the above criteria will be automatically disqualified. CI is not responsible for any e-mail delivery problems.

All submissions must be received by August 10, 2012.
