Description

The Youth Assembly 2012 titled “Youth and democracy: the young generation sacrificed?” which will be held in Strasbourg from October 4th to October 8th in 2012 organised by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in cooperation with the European Youth Foundation and the Youth sector of the Council of Europe is currently recruiting one general rapporteur.

Main obligations and tasks of the general rapporteur will be:

  • To attend the briefing session/ Preparatory meeting on 4t October 2012;
  • To prepare the conclusions/general report of the Youth Assembly 2012: “The young generation sacrificed?”
  • To present a 20 minutes speech summarizing the conclusions and outcomes of the event, including the results of the working groups, at the final working session of the Assembly;
  • To compile and edit the presentations of the guest speakers, resource persons and the conclusions of the working groups;
  • To contribute to the drafting of the “Final message of young people to the World Forum for Democracy”;
  • All documents will be produced in English. The ability to work in French is welcome.
    The message of young people to the World Forum on Democracy will need to be produced at the end of the Youth Assembly and until the morning after. Date of delivery of the draft general report: Sunday 17th November 2012

Eligibility

Competences required

  • Excellent writing skills in English;
  • Analytical skills and editing skills in English;
  • Ability to present an oral summary in a concise and clear way;
  • Experience with youth policy and youth work and with youth and democracy;
  • Ability to work under stress and to deliver work within short deadlines.

  1. Hi! Can you please clarify total costs of the Forum. Do we need to pay 1750 euros, or that is the amount which will be payed by them? Thanks in advance.

  2. Dear Bojana, its a job position not a call for participants and on the top of the post is stated the following information: 1750 Euro. Travel, board and lodging expenses for the duration of the Youth Assembly will be covered by the Council of Europe. Meaning, the selected candidate for general rapporteur will receive a fee, travel board and logging expenses covered by COE.
