Description
During ten days, the participants of the International Summer School have the great opportunity to attend classes held by Harvard University instructors at the Free University Training Center close to the Bazaleti Lake (about 15 minutes walking distance). By the end of the school, all participants have to submit and present projects that they work on in teams during the ten days. The International Summer School on Leadership is in the frames of International Spark Program – nonprofit corporation based in Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA). This program put a stress to the importance of a functioning democracy, cooperation, and a powerful civil society. Only 80 successful applicants will be able to take part in the International Summer School on Leadership 2011.
Eligibility
Students from different universities and majors, who are currently enrolled in their first or second year of university (starting their second or third year in the fall) and can communicate fluently in English, are eligible to apply to the International Summer School on Leadership.
Venue
Participants from the Free University are offered a scholarship of 80% that reduces the fee to the amount of 220 GEL while the full fee for the Summer School is 1 080 GEL (Georgian currency; 1 euro = 2,07 gel)
Participants from other universities are offered a scholarship of 70% that reduces the fee to the amount of 320 GEL. Besides that, ISS sponsors offer also full, 100 % scholarship.
Applicants who recruit number of fellow applicants will be given preferred consideration for additional financial aid.
The Free University scholarship covers the costs of participation, accommodation during 10 days at the Bazaleti Training Center, meals three times a day, transportation (Tbilisi – Bazaleti Training Center – Tbilisi), reading and other needed materials.
Application
First phase – To apply please fill out the application form before July 20, 2012. Please be aware, that preference is given to early applications.
Second phase – If you successfully pass the first phase of the application process, you will be invited for an interview. Be aware, that the interview will be conducted under group conditions, in English and a representative from Harvard University will be present.
