Description
This conference aims to continue the reflection and exchange on youth policy cooperation in the region and – more specifically – to place the topic of recognition of non-formal learning/education and of youth work on the political agenda of the countries of the South East Europe region. The conference should focus on the question of how to make youth work in the region more useful, valuable and recognized, particularly with regard to the role of youth work in strengthening civil society. Placing the discussion into current debates around the value (and validation) of non-formal learning, employability, but also active citizenship, questions to be addressed will be: What do we understand by recognition of non-formal learning/education and youth work? Why do we want to further develop non-formal learning and youth work? What measures are needed/can help to promote the recognition at different levels?
The programme will be carried out by the two selected facilitators together with staff of the institutions organizing the conference. The selected facilitators are expected to:
- Participate in the preparation meeting.
- Carry out the programme of activities as agreed.
- Contribute to the final report of the meeting.
Facilitators will receive a fee of (280,00 EUR per day for 6 days). Board and lodging during the preparation meeting and the conference will be provided and travel costs will be reimbursed by the organizers.
Eligibility
- Facilitators should have sound knowledge of, and experience in working on aspects related to the topic of recognition of youth work of non-formal learning/education, including:
– current developments at the European level.
– the overall situation and developments in the countries of South East Europe regarding youth policy and in particular recognition of youth work and non-formal learning/education. - Experience in facilitating conferences or other meetings for a diverse group of participants including profiles listed above (see: participants).
- Expertise in methods that can be used for discussion, sharing experiences, exchange of good practice, and stimulating ideas and plans for the future in a non-formal setting.
- Ability and readiness to work in international teams as well as autonomously.
