Description

Lucca Leadership Macedonia is a non-profit organization licensed to provide training programmes to youth aged 18-35 on Transformational Leadership. They are part of a network of organizations located worldwide in Ireland, the UK, Netherlands, Australia, South Africa and North America, and have experience in organizing both local and international leadership training programmes.

Lucca Leadership Macedonia’s mission is to help develop the next generation of young leaders who will be able to tackle the most pressing issues in their communities and societies, and transform them using a holistic approach, bringing results that are sustainable and benefit all instead of just particular groups.

They work with Transformational Leadership because of its inside-out approach, which integrates the being and doing parts of leadership. This approach helps develop and access the inner resources of the leader. In the being aspect, they fascilitate the leaders to become aware of what is going on within them, their thoughts, their feelings, their actions. This helps them to draw more fully on the whole range of capabilities and skills in delivering their leadership. The doing part of leadership is where the leader meets the needs they face, using their skills, understanding and practice.

Transformational Leadership requires the understanding of and engagement with people individually and in society. Its focus is on the ability of individuals and groups to work with this understanding in the service of one’s own society.

Therefore their programmes are designed to provide a safe space to really investigate the needs and problems we face in our society.  Instead of looking at that which is apparent, they go deep under the surface and look at the underlying causes.Operating from there ensures sustainable solutions that do not simply provide a quick-fix that just mask and shift the problems away.

The “Leading Together” project

The people at Lucca Leadership Macedonia, are passionate about positive change, and strongly believe in the leadership potential of all young people, regardless of their ethnic, cultural, religious and professional background.

Their programs are designed to include, not exclude, and to support and guide every young person as they develop the confidence and ability to lead effective transformation in their communities.

Lucca Leadership Macedonia, in partnership with Lucca Leadership Ireland and the financial support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Skopje, invites all young people from Macedonia, of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, aged 18-28, to apply for our “Leading Together” weekend training in Macedonia which will take place from 20th to 22nd of April.

The Course Director of the weekend training will be Lydia Campbell from Ireland, who has been involved with Lucca Leadership Ireland since 2005.  Since then she has trained as a coach, facilitator and Course Director, while also bringing her skills to other organisations around the world eg. Zest4kidz in Uganda, Ikamva Youth in South Africa, Future Foundations in England. She will be assisted throughout the training by a team of experienced coaches and facilitators from Lucca Leadership Macedonia.

The programme will give participants hands-on experience with transformational leadership, through a balanced mixture of theory, practise, reflection and dialogue.  Powerful sessions, frameworks and team tasks that explore:

  • how the human being functions, thinks  and feels,
  • how are decisions made and how ethical they are,
  • what is great communication and dialogue,
  • Cooperation
  • Teamwork and leading a team in challenging circumstances etc. are included.

The program is specifically tailored to help participants gain insight on how they function as leaders, and how this impacts their views and interactions with others. Every participant will have the chance to be in a leader’s position, and put into practice what he or she has learned, thus understand how they operate as  leaders, and how they can tap more fully into the range of capabilities they innately posses.

Their working methodology provides participants individual care, recognizing that they all have different needs to be met, and facilitates their growth and learning. Rather than telling the participants what to think, they help them discover how to think for themselves. By thinking together and exploring  issues  we all face, we will begin to “Lead together”. So be prepared for an intensive (and fun!) weekend training !
