Researcher Position in Comparative Politics and the Political Systems of Eastern Europe at Humboldt University, Berlin

Deadline: 8 July 2011
Open to: candidates holding a MA or equivalent in Social Sciences or Political Sciences

The chair of Comparative Politics and the Political Systems of Eastern Europe at Humboldt University Berlin invites applications for a researcher position (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) in comparative politics (in a project on the influence of constitutional courts on the process of transformation in Germany and Turkey).

Whereas there is a recent boom of scientific work on Constitutional Courts in established democracies as well as in democratizing countries, comparative research on the institutional setting, the political impact and especially on the internal decision making processes of constitutional courts is still rare. The planned project will contribute to fill this gap by a systematic, in-depth comparison of the Turkish Constitutional Court and the German Federal Constitutional Court.

The job position is open for candidates holding a MA or equivalent in Social Sciences or Political Sciences. Proficiency in English is required; German and Turkish or a language from Eastern Europe is a plus.

Application

The deadline for application is 8 of July 2011. Applicants should provide following documents:

  • Letter of application
